DA should've been built with a filter long ago, y'know? Like Tumblr should have (but at least it recently made one), but it's always left up to the users of the site.

Exactly. DA has a mature filter, but it's not quite the same thing. Especially since most people wouldn't tag fetish art as mature. Nor does it account for innocuous stuff that could trigger individual people but be fine for most others. That's why a tag filter is necessary. So we can like, tailor it to our own needs.
